Company history

As a long-term successful entertainment company, we have been providing unique entertainment for around 40 years.

1982 – Foundation of Teleclub AG

Foundation of Teleclub AG, which has been on the air since 1982 making it one of the oldest pay-TV channels in Europe.

1989 – Foundation of Cinetrade AG

Foundation of CT Cinetrade AG and takeover of Teleclub AG. Cinetrade emerges as a film rights and content trading company for the purchase and use of programme and sports broadcasting rights both vis-à-vis providers (B2B) and for end customers (B2C).

1992 – Takeover of KITAG Kino-Theater AG by CT Cinetrade AG

The Cinetrade Group takes over KITAG Kino-Theater AG, one of the largest cinema operators in Switzerland, and further expands its entertainment offer.

2005 to 2017 – participation of Swisscom AG Cinetrade Group and founding of Teleclub Programm AG

Swisscom AG acquired a strategic stake of 25% in CT Cinetrade AG in 2005 and a majority stake of 75% in 2013. In the same year, Teleclub Programm AG is also founded (with a minority holding by CT Cinetrade AG), which is now responsible for the design of programmes and editorial content. 2017 Swisscom AG acquires 100% of CT Cinetrade AG.

2019 – Transfer of the Bluewin editorial team to Teleclub Programm AG

The operation and editing of the news and entertainment platform is transferred from Swisscom AG to Teleclub Programm AG.

2020 to 2021 – Rebranding under the «blue» brand

Teleclub Programm AG is renamed Entertainment Programm AG and CT Cinetrade AG is renamed blue Entertainment AG. Teleclub AG and KITAG Kino-Theater AG merge with blue Entertainment AG under the «blue» brand.
